Since its conceptualization in 1999, the teaching seminar became an annual/biannual event of the CT-MRI Society of the Philippines. Its main objective is to render continuing medial education on the basics, advances and current topics in CT and MR imaging, in order to guide medical practitioners in their daily practice. It normally consists of 1-2 days of didactic lectures and interactive workshops done by a faculty of Radiologists who are experts in their respective fields of practice and interest.
It was the joint efforts of Dr. Renato Carlos and Dr. Cesar Co that led to the advent of teaching seminars, which concentrated on a specific organ system at a time. This approach aimed to give radiologists more detailed knowledge of the clinical applications of CT and MRI to specific organs of the body.
